The Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) has announced an exciting new initiative with Practice Management Institute® (PMI) to provide specialized training and certification opportunities for medical practice staff affiliated with HCMS. This venture aims to equip healthcare teams with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the ever-changing landscape of medical practice operations.

Practice Management Institute (PMI) is pleased to announce that it will be providing affordable, medical practice-specific training and certification opportunities to Harris County Medical Society (Houston) members.
So often, physicians and practice leadership are hard-pressed to find quality, localized, in-person, or web-based educational opportunities for their teams. As in many industries, the rules and regulations safeguarding the business of medicine are numerous and often changing, especially those relating to and directly affecting reimbursement. With this opportunity, HCMS-affiliated physicians and staff will now be able to choose from a well-rounded selection of practice management courses.
Monthly live, web-based programming will begin in February, and 2025 topics will cover numerous facets of practice operations, such as front desk practices, patient experience, coding, billing, reimbursement, and compliance sessions. The nationally recognized Certified Medical Office Manager (CMOM®) certification, offered by PMI, will also be available in a live classroom setting twice in 2025, during the spring and fall.
