Practice Management Institute Expands Partnership with Midland College to Bring Important Continuing Education Opportunities to Local and Regional Medical Practice Staff

PMI is pleased to announce that we are expanding our partnership with Midland College.   Working closely to offer PMI continuing educational programming covering front desk operations, patient experience, coding, billing, compliance, and reimbursement, as well as the nationally recognized PMI certifications, this new phase in our partnership will focus exclusively on the success of the local and regional healthcare industry, providers, and practice staff.

So often, providers and practice leadership are hard-pressed to find quality, localized, in-person educational opportunities for their team. As in many industries, the rules and regulations safeguarding the business of medicine are numerous and often changing, especially those relating to and directly affecting reimbursement. In this newest venture, area medical practices will now be able to choose from a well-rounded selection of courses that will go far to elevate staff and solidify the bottom-line success of the medical practice.

Training will begin in June with PMI’s popular PMI Basics: Introduction to Medical Coding and Patient Collections and A/R Management sessions. In the Introduction to Medical Coding session, students will participate in a comprehensive introduction to ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS Level II coding systems, and explore essential coding concepts that directly affect reimbursement for healthcare services provided in an outpatient setting.

In the Patient Collections and A/R Management session which covers A/R as well as compliance and practice management efforts, students will learn to improve insurance data collection, eligibility verification, and patient communication to reduce payment problems that can crush the bottom line of the medical practice.

We’d love to thank MC's Dr. Jennifer Myers, Associate Vice President of Workforce Education, Wendy Wood-Collins, MBA, MSN, RN, Dean Health Sciences Dual Credit & Continuing Education, Kim Daw, Advisor/Coordinator Health Sciences Continuing Education, and Karisa Danley, Executive Director, Marketing, Communications & Public Relations for their great vision, collaboration, and commitment to their local medical community!
