Practice Management Institute® (PMI) has set the dates for its largest learning event of the year in San Antonio, October 10-12. Medical practice administrators, coding, reimbursement and auditing professionals, and compliance officers are encouraged to attend. Participants will learn strategies for professional growth and guidelines for working smart in today’s complex administrative environment.
PMI’s President/CEO, David Womack, says there will be a lot of new ideas and information to take back to the office to share with colleagues. Ten speakers will present 17 new sessions that cover a range of topics affecting the profitability and compliance of medical practices. Talent Management Consultant, Amy Cunningham, will deliver an inspiring talk on leadership and empowerment.
“Amy joined us in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Her topic on achieving work-life purpose and balance was very well received,” Womack said.
PMI is excited to feature pediatrician and practice management consultant, Dr. Linda Parsi, who will discuss E/M Coding and documentation from a physician’s perspective. Other topics presented by various presenters: coding and reimbursement updates for 2019, compliance risk training, and information on billing for mid-level providers, risk adjustment coding, PCI-compliant payment transactions, patient and employee engagement strategies, and a session on chart auditing.
Three days of general and breakout sessions begin Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 12 at 12 noon. Everyone will have access to all general and breakout sessions to customize his or her learning track. The binder includes the slide deck from all 17 presentations.
Twelve CEU credits will satisfy annual renewal requirements for PMI certified professionals. The host hotel, La Quinta Riverwalk, is close to the famous River Walk, shopping, dining, museums, and great dining options. Womack said that he expects this event to sell out early.
“We have been in Las Vegas every fall for the past 14 years,” he said. “This year, we have opted to hold our biggest event of the year in PMI’s hometown - San Antonio - a city rich in history, culture and fun, with plenty of activities and sites to explore in the evenings.”
